Hey!
I ended up working today. I was at home cleaning the heat pump unit at home when I got a message if I wanted to load a tank for Nova Scotia. It was supposed to be hauled by another transporter, but he didn't have the proper permits for oversize.
So, here comes me to the rescue!
Let's get this truck on the road.

Loading went super fast, as they were waiting for me.
A strap here, a hook there.
Tightening everything.
And within no time we were done.
I'll leave the trailer here while they prepare the paperwork and all that, and come back this way later to get it, and be on my way down East.

The Turtles

For now, off for the rest of the afternoon and part of the evening.
We had our little "start of vacation" lunch today. There are only four drivers in the company, including the boss, so it's always a small group.
I had my obligatory Guinness.
One thing I appreciate is that whenever we go somewhere like this, they make sure it's a place that serves Guinness, because it's pretty much the only beer I actually enjoy.
To be honest, I'm not much of a drinker. I don't really like the taste of alcohol in general. Whether it's a cheap wine or a fancy aged Port, they all taste like shit to me. Same with those colourful, fancy cocktails... one sip is all it takes for me to want to spit it out. And 99.9% of beers out there just aren't my thing.
Guinness is the one true exception.
And, if we're talking whisky, a nice Lagavulin 16 is what I'm all about.
After lunch I went back home for a few. And to spend time with this lovely girl.
I was about to do some Muay Thai this morning, after cleaning the heat pump, when I was offered to go to Nova Scotia.
I could have turned it down and enjoy three days off at home. But, going East, with the opportunity to leave early means I get to spend a day with Mélanie.
And that is good
I'll see Tumilik again in a few days, maybe late Tuesday evening.
The peppers are doing well l.
Back to the truck. The other driver has a combine harvester on his trailer. Looks like we're now hauling those around.
As for myself, I'm back in my truck.
Black Magic Woman
Santana
St-Hyacinthe QC
Quick stop for fuel.
Filling up on diesel. With my tanks topped off, I should have enough to reach Halifax and come back.
Let's talk with Diesel. I would assume it's the wrestler.
Wild Thing
The Troggs
St-Liboire QC
Alright. Got my trailer.
Let's get this show on the road.
White Rabbit
Jefferson Airplane
Drummondville QC
I Fought the Law
The Bobby Fuller Four
Lévis QC
Sugar, Sugar
The Archies
Kamouraska QC
And that's it for now. I'm parked and will sleep for a couple of hours and finish the drive early in the morning. I'll feature that part of the trip at the beginning of next post, which should be up Monday.
Have a good one!
Cheers!

Enjoy the weekend. Hi Mélanie!

The way you put together today's post is brilliant, @OP. The design of the images and videos combined with the chosen music... pretty much perfect.

Oh my heart, '60s music took me right back to my youth.

Good morning ☕️ enjoying the music selection today! They sure don’t seem to make music like that anymore eh

I loved the old timey feel of the filter you used on the videos. Went along well with the music.
However, I’m sure none of us are that old. Oh, wait . . .

Curious what kind of paperwork could cause that long of a delay XD

Heh. Someone has to go through a 50+ points checklist, with pictures for every single point, plus a video of the entire load, then counter verify everything, before giving me the papers and the okay. Usually I wait but with work's lunch and a few things to do before leaving, I told the guy I'd come back in the evening.

Did you use a 70's Polaroid filter or something? :-)

Probably matching the age of the truck!
