Hi imgur!
I've been hard at work on making new areas and art for my sci-fi exploration game, Epitasis. I hope you like it! We had a successful Kickstarter campaign last year and we are getting close to a fully playable version.

This area is inspired by the VLA in New Mexico and is part of the intro. Science and technology are an important part of the games overall themes and is something I consider very important in our society today.

In Epitasis, you'll explore abandoned ruins on a distant planet, full of technological relics from an ancient alien civilization. This here is part of an ancient and overgrown city.

The game has various environments all over the planet, and you'll get to do some hiking in pretty places like this.

Epitasis also has a full time of day and weather system. Despite being "just a puzzle game", I am trying to make a world that seems alive and is constantly changing around you.

Areas in the game are connected by a huge portal network. There are many secret areas you'll be able to discover, if you look hard enough...

I've been documenting my progress on Imgur for some time... I really appreciate all the interest and support in the past.

If this seems like an interesting game to you and you'd like to keep up to date with the development, you can add the game your wishlist on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/662240/Epitasis/

Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy. <3

very eyecatching, seems a little like fez for the portal system and talos principle for the world. is the game play similar?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

YES! You hit the nail on the head. :) the portal system is similar to Fez - the puzzles take form from Myst and Talos.

So it’s got abstract, stylized, & photorealism based environments in one game? Sounds like how I game dev LOL.

You could integrate non-flashy portals for bonus puzzles/secrets. Non-flashy being like the way Hellblade did portals.

Just a doorway or arch or hole, and on the other side, a world only slightly different.

I’ll have to check those out!
