The costumes were awesome though.

Still a good movie.

For Ramirez to be an Egyptian who speak with a Scottish accent made perfect sense because he was over 2400 years old. You don't live this long and keep your original way of speaking.
eaglesfield
Sean Connery was cast in that role because only Bond, James Bond could wear that hat like a boss!

At least an immortal could claim they're the victim of linguistic drift.

EggEggHeSaidEgg
Ramirez claims to have been "chief metallurgist of Charles V of Spain" but Spain was founded in 1492 and he says this to Connor Macleod in 1541. So, what, are we to believe that Spain churned out 5 kings called Charles in 49 years? I DONT THINK SO. THESE WRITERS NEED TO PACK THEIR CRAP UP COS THEY'RE FRICKIN FIRED. Other than that, perfect film. 4 stars.

Well... that's about how many fucks an average American script writer gives about facts, regarding Europe.

...and they cast a Frenchman to be a Scot... IMDB - Though born in Great Neck, Long Island, Christopher Lambert's family left the US when he was only two years old.

Those outfits are glorious though! Imagine having the originals on a mannequin displayed at your home - how amazing would that be!??

One more thing to not dust.

The cleaning service can take care of that.

And then I think of Much Ado About Nothing where Keanu Reeves plays Denzel Washington's bastard half-brother. (Also that Denzel Washington was uncharacteristically awkward in his role in that movie. All of his lines felt so fuckin awkward.)

The accents stick out less after the first 30 watches.

When creating the show, the showrunners asked Patrick Stewart to do a french accent, he did, they heard it and decided Picard could have a British accent instead! (they also tried giving him a wig so Picard would have hair, same result).
ChloeRed
Friend of mine likes to comment what if Patrick Stewart used his birth area accent.. "Eh Gordie, Can you make t'is ship go bac-ards?"
MisterValiant
There's a TNG episode where he plays his younger self and they give him some hair. It looks incredibly wrong.
