I machined the two clamshell pieces out of solid aluminum and then chemical coated, powder coated, and laser etched (the Mario). It is FULLY playable and has a nice heft to it.

Starting with one half of the cart as raw stock.

First side of the back complete!

Inside machined out of the back. The tecture on the finish is actually very smooth. The tool marks show the path the mill took hogging everything out.

Front side powder coated silver and then the title accent machined out after. I find it makes mask lines you can't get otherwise.

Chemical coating on the cart which turns any exposed aluminum gold. This is called Type I Iridite (or just gold iridite).
