My Favorite Bloody Mary Mix Recipe

Ingredients

What I have here is the best Bloody Mary Mix recipe I have ever tasted and I am giving it to you lovely bastards.

I made a whole bottle of mix but I'll post single serving portions below for anybody that wants to try it first.

What you will need:
64oz bottle of your favorite Tomato Juice
10 Lemons
Green Olives
Worcestershire Sauce
A1 Steak Sauce
Tabasco Sauce
Pepper
Sea Salt
Celery Salt
Prepared Horseradish

1/2 Bottle of Tomato Juice

First things first, you only need about half a bottle of Tomato Juice. So put half of the bottle in another container to store for later use or drink it all or dump it down the drain... I don't really care what you do with it but you need half a bottle of tomato juice. A funnel makes all the difference!

10 Lemons

Get your 10 Lemons, wash them off, cut them in half and the squeeze the juice out of each one into a big bowl. A lemon squeezer works wonders. Then pour that freshly squeezed lemon juice into your bottle of tomato juice. Super important that you use actual lemons. This is what makes all the difference in your mix.

1 Tbsp of Salt and Pepper

1 Tbsp of Sea Salt & 1 Tbsp of Pepper, each.

1 Tbsp Celery Salt

This stuff was hard to find but it gives the drink the taste it needs without the obnoxious celery stick.

30 Drops of Tabasco Sauce

No, I don't expect you to be all precise and actually measure 30 drops out. I just shook it about 30 times. If that number scares you then do about half and then once all your ingredients are in add more to taste.

2 Tbsp Worcestershire & 1 Tbsp of A1

Worcestershire Sauce and A1 Steak Sauce can kind of be added to taste but my perfect mix recipe calls for 2 Tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce and 1 Tbsp of A1 Steak Sauce.

2 Tbsp Green Olive Juice

Pimento in or out doesn't matter, your preference, but this juice compliments your olives and adds just enough edge to the mix. I usually save this for last to wash down everything stuck in the funnel.

4 Tbsp Prepared Horseradish

Some people leave this out but I would highly recommend keeping it in. Any good Bloody Marry Mix has to have Horseradish. If nothing else, at least add 2 Tbsp first then mix and add more if you think you want it. If you have never bought Horseradish be sure to get "Prepared Horseradish" and not the creamy stuff. I found some next to the shrimp and seafood section but I've seen it before in the deli section too.

Time for a glass

It's best to let it sit in the fridge overnight so all the flavors have time to marry. Shake the bottle like crazy when your ready for a drink.

Grab your favorite Highball, line the rim with lemon juice and salt it then toss in a few green olives. Grab a mixing cup and fill your mixing cup with ice, Bloody Mary Mix and a shot - or two ;) - of your favorite vodka. Mix it all up and then pour into your Highball.

1 Strip of Bacon

I fry about 6 strips of bacon and then freeze them. Then, when I'm ready to have a drink, I'll take a strip out, nuke it for 13 seconds and put it in my drink.

Serve

Serve with a slice of Bacon!

Single Serving Portions:
3oz (about 1/2 a glass) of Tomato Juice
1 Squeezed Lemon
1/2 tsp Green Olive juice
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp A1 Steak Sauce
3 drops of Tabasco Sauce
1/4 tsp Pepper
1/4 tsp Table Salt
1/4 tsp Celery Salt
1/2 Tbsp Prepared Horseradish

Dog Tax

Charlie doesn't think I should be in the kitchen...

If I drink twelve of these while staring in the mirror will I throw up?

I have a problem with drinks that require more ingredients than I have fingers.

That said, some bars around here will garnish a bloody with every fried food known to man and it's insane and I love it.

Yeah but this will def knock your socks off. Especially if you use Bacon Infused Vodka. Somethings are better when others make them though.

Everything looks great except for the tom juice. A cocktail is only as good as its worst ingredient. Get a better/thicker brand of tomjuice.

Could you recommend some? I actually love V8 but then again, I've never tried any other brand.

I'm in Texas. I think it's important to get the low sodium tomato juice too, for obvious reasons.

No sodium is your friend in bloody marys haha

So! If you can buy fresh tomatoes juice them, strain out the seeds, add a lot of salt, or Campbell's is fine, so is Knudsen's.

I think my dog would bite me if I stayed that long in a kitchen... lol. I'll have to commit to trying that though some day. :)
