Yes, it's the US. Red/black are hot legs, white is neutral, ground in Romex is bare copper. Would be green if sheathed but not required here

I'm quite obviously not an electrician, but if I recall correctly there is three phase, usually in Commercial or Industrial not residential

Is the top of the panel where main bkr is. Keeps home owner from sticking fingers in to live parts. Also bundling like that is not a good

Unisolated but we are on 120v.

I can't tell from your picture, but the neutral (white) and your ground (bare copper) need to be bonded together as well.

It's bonded in the service transfer switch for the generator. Good lookin' out though, thanks!

I feel like wiring a panel isn't something best suited for a DIY'er regardless of of how 'neat' the wiring is. The house burns down and 1/

/2 your homeowners insurance will not cover it because it wasn't done by a licensed electrician. Also, people could get hurt.

To be fair, I'm a licensed general contractor. This happens to be my own house and my County allows homeowners to do their own wiring 1/?

I am also a licensed general contractor. Being one actually puts your license at risk (at least in FL) since it's outside of the scope 1/

In England your ground or earth conductors are supposed to be sleeved not left bare.

In Chicago they must be sleeved in green to identify them as ground. I don't know if bare ground wire is code anywhere, or a good idea?

In US, bare wire is legal as a source for ground. It all depends on the specs of the job. And to the AHJ if there's reasons otherwise.

Have to? Absolutely not. I don't. But many of us see the box as their only shining moment and some go crazy for perfection. It "looks" neat.
