Vermont's spending for FY 2012. I like pie charts, makes me want pie though... either way, a pie is good for scale, not for raw numbers.
this is the same data as above, lower on the same page. I was happy to see a total, I didn't feel like typing all the numbers in to total it.
this site is http://www.vttransparency.org/index.cfm?pg=State_Spending§ion=state&this_yr=2012§ion=state&this_fund=all_but_fed#chart
this is Vermont's revenue for FY 2008-2012, pay attention to FY 2012. total tax income for the state is $2,757,370,000. looking up a little bit, they spent $3,185,189,529 in 2012... I'm not math wizz but methinks that puts the state in the red...
I tried out 2008 and the number isn't as extreme but still in the red.

do I know how to fix it? sure, but I'm just a nobody on the internet. I just thought we should all look at the spending of a state under the leadership of Imgur's perceived ideal candidate...
If i got anything wrong, please let me know... and before I hear anything about it, I don't want Trump either.
