Parts of Europe are currently being inundated by extreme rainfall. Romania already has to report several dead. Austria, Slovenia, Germany, Poland and the Czech republic are also being hit.
You can look at it here: https://youtu.be/muPoWHW_qAY?si=qm6485jwjmQNdktX

And which currently contains the bridge that collapsed on Monday.
Because of the expected flood wave they had to remove the bridge in a race against time. Not doing that could cause even more damage, more parts collapsing, or damage in other areas of the city.
That's why the Bundeswehr (our military) is now required to lend additional support to the firefighters and the Technisches Hilfswerk (disaster relief agency with special equipment) who are working on the demolition of the bridge. They have brought recovery tanks called "Bergepanzer Büffel" to help in the case of one of the civil machines falling over or slipping into the river.
The video still shows the media spokesman of the Dresden firefighters in the middle and an officer of the Bundeswehr on the right. In the background is the collapsed bridge.

There was even a livecam showing the demolition progress over the last few days:

Sadly, Europe is not the only place that suffers.
Nigeria is currently being hit by its worst flood ever, also due to exceptional rainfall. Up to one million people could end up being displaced.
And Vietnam, as well as other countries in the region, has also been hit by a massive typhoon that washed entire villages away. They also had a bridge collapse a few days ago, but far worse than the one in Dresden. A lot of people died or are missing in the region.

Climate change, whats that?

People still freaking denying climate change infuriates me.

It's not just climate change, it's also the mishandling of river systems. Rivers need to meander and have flood planes. This slows the water and lets the area absorb large flood events like this. But we straightened em out because it was better for transport and land usage

That's also a factor, yes. But the amount of rainfall we're getting in some single events lately is far higher than in the decades before.
