Here in Europe decisions were taken that changed the way the workers did their jobs, and vaccination was mandatory for everyone, immediately or almost after the science guys gave the information. US did not choose to react accordingly to science, and that's the consequences.

It boggles my mind. On 9/11 we lost around 3k in one day. And because of that we gave of civil rights, invaded 2 countries, and anyone who said anything against any of this was publicly shunned.
With Covid we were losing 3k A DAY, and the same people who clamored for wars after 9/11 couldn't be asked to wear a mask.
