Welcome to the June project update for Fallout 4 : The Capital Wasteland.

This month has been a busy one for me, Plenty of Bank Holidays working behind the bar and family getting married but my amazing team has not slowed. Pumping out Quality content even while i was away.

First thing id like to do is welcome the new Team Members. Joining us this month we have Alex4949,Rice Calculator and Kung Fu Man. Alex has joined the team with one thing in mind, The Enclave. He will be working on Raven rock and any other Enclave related Locations. Rice Calculator(Im Still unsure as to what a Rice Calculator is) Will be Working with Unoctium to provide Animated quest icons for all of the quests in Fallout 3. Finally Kung Fu Man is assisting my self with General Implementation and the Creation of New Weapons. Work from these three guys will be shown Below.

Now at the End of last month i Published a Short Teaser Showing a few shots of the Capital Wasteland. I hope it gave people an idea of what to expect.
If you didnt manage to Catch it Here is a Link : https://youtu.be/cu7nfwERoHA

What is this

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fallout 3 recreated in Fallout 4 basically.

Are you looking for more people to help with the project?

There“s a mod for it: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19398/?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i know this should be mandatory in this bigger mod

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Time to start another playthrough

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you are saying you shrank the already small map to be even smaller now?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is amazing. I would love to be able to travel between the Capital Wasteland and Commonwealth via an airship.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hey @OP et al. make your own new fallout. separate story, separate everything. i'll offer creative services :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Them guns though

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this a total conversion?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Know if anyone is doing similar for new vegas? I'd love to see them all brought up to date.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it possible to make versions where you start as fallout 3 does and a version where you can travel from commonwealth?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes please I would like to just be able to travel to the capital wasteland from the commonwealth. Maybe via a ship or even an airship.

I'd love to help, but my proficiency extends from Oblivion CS to Skyrim CK. Spent an hour trying to put a specific piece of FO4 armor in a +

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

box and gave up. Also, I have a history of weird, inexplicable bugs that make my script wizard friends not let me help them do anything.

Say hi to FP for me. :)

A man can hope right?

Somebody at Bethesda needs to give you a job.

9 years ago | Likes 212 Dislikes 3

I've heard of Fallout: NV mod creators getting jobs at Bethesda. They really like their modders.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But then who would fix their games?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Modding this impressive goes on your CV for sure

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why would you want to work at Bethesda, ewwww

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 30

Go back to No Mutants Allowed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When you try to be edgy but fail

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

edgy? lol

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

It's how the makers of team fortress got their jobs. They modded Quake and impressed someone.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

it is how a lot of people in the industry get jobs. make mods while at school to show on resume.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Neat

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You mean they modded Half-Life not quake right? Because I'm pretty sure it was Half-Life.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Team fortress was originally a Quake mod

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, they'll just take the good ideas, put'em in FO 5 and forget about credits.

9 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 5

Yep.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Lol no they won't, they'll make their game and modders will do all this cool shit

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why do you assume that?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How are they going to steal the idea? It is building one game they made in a game engine they made. It's a great undertaking and labor of >>

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

love, but there aren't any new concepts or IP to steal.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I think it was more in reference to the base building/Hearthfire debacle, the latter of which was a stolen idea- from a popular mod.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Not only that, but the Hearthfire launch update broke most previous customizable housing mods. Was pretty crass.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is looking really impressive. I just hope the lawyers don't descend upon it.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 2

They gave a free copy of fallout 3 with fallout 4. Why would they she for content they gave out free?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think as long as it's in the mod sphere it will last and after there whole fiasco with the charging for mods.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

They'll keep their heads down.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I think I heard that for a similar project, Skywind, as long as every asset is new, Bethesda is okay with it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's good to hear.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does that go as far as audio assets from other Bethesda games? Because that could make some extensive mods difficult.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, because they don't have legal rights to distribute Bethesda's other content to people who may not own it. Applies similarly to DLCs, 1/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

mods must simply make that DLC a requirement, not distribute anything from it. There are notable exceptions: Tale of Two Wastelands does 2/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

not distribute any of the content, just provides a master file that patches the FO3 one to work in addition to FNV, and you must copy the 3/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Bethesda sues modders for modding their game with aspects of their game using tools they made freely available" Not likely.

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Especially since tons of other identical projects exist already. Skywind, Morroblivion, A Tale of Two Wastelands, Skyblivion

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

The real problem, these projects are EXTREMELY ambitious, and often stagnate for years and years

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

But then some do work out, like Enderal.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats not a "We are remaking this existing game from scratch, in a different game" mod though, thats its own thing entirely.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Both Morrowblivion and Tale of Two Wastelands are completely playable, and were before TESV and FO4 came out, respectively

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Tale of Two Wastelands got it easy cause it just repacks F3 data directly. Morroblivion imo was just disapointing and felt rushed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those projects exist because Bethesda allows it. Never think otherwise. Bethesda could sue if they wanted, it's their IP.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But they wont, they have no history of doing so, and there is no reason to do so, these projects only push sales for their newer games.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The real at-risk projects are ones that make completely standalone games, like fanmade nintendo games, or fanmade remakes of MGS/RE2.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Modding has never been a selling point for their games. Until recently, consoles have not been able to mod. Their games sell more consoles.
