For the haters, here's my collection. Shot through 1.5' log.

and it managed to not hit anything besides dirt?
VirginSurgeon
There’s a dirt berm set up on the rifle range to prevent rounds from going stray.

A bullet expands when it strikes anything substantial. The pictured bullet has not, therefore OP is dishonest.

Lee Harvey Oswald also had a manic bullet.
GolFoehammer
That milsurp ammo?
spaceymonkey
I believe you @OP , I've done the same thing with my milsurp gear.
VirginSurgeon
I can’t tell if these people are being sarcastic or if they actually believe all bullets explode on impact with anything
spaceymonkey
Little from column A, little from column B.
TheQuietHunter
No. Bullets smash and fracture.
VirginSurgeon
Well, maybe try it for yourself but this is what happened to my round. It’s a full metal jacket round so it stays intact pretty much.
TheQuietHunter
No. I think you are lying. Bullets smash on impact by design. Even fully jacket rounds.
spaceymonkey
No, they're telling the truth. I've done the same thing with my milsurp gear. Fmj don't fragment unless hitting something hard.
TheQuietHunter
Tree 2 feet in diameter would be enough to deform a soft lead and copper piece of metal. Scuffs at the base show wear from rubbing.
