No idea. But it's very likely. Homelessness/mental health struggles/drug abuse can have a detrimental effect on the immune system & definitely makes access to healthcare a rough journey. Apparently, she was first admitted to hospital for severe malnourishment. It sounds like she'd been going through a really dark period.

That fucking sucks, I'll bet she never got adequately compensated for her work. Someone who contributes that much to stories so widely loved shouldn't be left to die like that.

According to reports she died with millions in her accounts/in residuals. She was homeless cuz she had mental health and addiction issues, not because she was broke. She just wouldn't/couldn't access them with her conditions.
It's a statement of the poor health system and treatment of mentally ill/addiction/homeless ppl.

Thank you for clarifying. I was wrong about the compensation thing. Still sucks mental health doesn't get the attention it deserves. I can't find out where exactly she lived, only claims that she was in an RV with a boyfriend. Maybe our healthcare system failed, maybe her mental health problems drove her away from anything that might have helped.
