This feels as cringe as when the right tried to pretend Truth Social was actually going to take off, and they were all, like, so totally happy and everything was better there and it was definitely growing and gonna be a real website, not just a fringe echo chamber, for realsies. Weren't we all supposed to have left Twitter over a year ago already?

They have gained over 23 million users in a short time. I'd hardly call that pretending. I deleted Twitter the day Elon bought it. They've said they want to be tough on hate speech and false information. So that already makes it better than Twitter or Truth Social to me.

Well... Bluesky is also run by a rich bastard who's a Trump supporter. That being said, at least they aren't *directly* in the orbit of Trump suck-ups. Still in the gravitational well though.

I don't get the amount of apparent shilling for BlueSky lately. Yeah, I get that Musk is a cockhead. But how about a few more of us learn actually how easily shit can be tainted and full of bad actors irrespective of the platform? It's not all about management.

Bluesky is decentralized. Its not ran by just one company or person. Also, they have agreed to crack down on hate speech or false information. So most Trump people get banned quick. Also, I'm not a fan of Elon. I'm just happy to see them lose money.

I just like to think *some* of the population is starting to tire a little bit of the same old noise. Once stuff gets tainted by management quirks/bias or it gets infiltrated by bad actors or bots it just becomes the same wasteland in a different package. i.e. different platform same shit. I even think the amount of shilling going on for BlueSky is sus in itself.

But people will just use it for ego and validation regardless like most other social media platforms. I never used twitter, long before Musk even came near it. I got all I ever needed from it, from quotes/embedded links from other sources.

People use Imgur and Reddit for validation and much worse things. Bluesky is not a cure for the human condition. Its better than Twitter and Musk though.
