26 Man Tax: Alex Russell

The game of life is a game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later with astounding accuracy. -Florence Scovel Shinn

So, I made a discord server. It's a relaxed environment where you can take/donate memes to the cause, play trivia twice a week, chat about lots of topics or about nothing at all. We also have Jack Box game night and are setting up movie night! Very laid back/relaxed vibe. Come hang with us.

I'm also on the imgcat server for updates & fun:

Unable to work, zero income. Feel free to leave me a tip. Those that have, y'all are the bee's knees. You've honestly been my lifeline. For the couple people that have said I'm "scamming" people, I only get SNAP, so this money goes to things like TP, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc.

On 4th of July vacation some tiny entrepreneurs persuaded me to purchase lemonade, it was A very hot day and I already had some seashells which was the other product. So adorable.

#14 One company I worked for leased space (1/2 a floor) from an insurance company. We were the IT wing of a print-and-mail company. The building owners had rules about how a cubicle should look, one of which was "no books of the desks". As a programmer, I had manuals for several different languages, which I used frequently. And I wasn't going to give up one of my few drawers to be a library. So I made a shelf for my books. It clipped on under the top piece of the cubicle wall, and

... I stained the wood to match the faux wood veneer of the cubicle edges. About a week later, a bunch of suits came to look at my alterations. I could tell they were not pleased, but I was never asked to remove it. One of my colleagues there asked if he could have it when I left. Never pass up an opportunity to be a rebel.

#15 we don't deserve otters

20 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

If a stone appears to be particularly good for opening one food item, it will be kept for several others. In an observation of an otter in Point Lobos State Park, it was seen than one otter ate 44 mussels in one feeding episode and only used six stones. This retention of stone hammers and anvils for later reuse, also documented among chimpanzees, has been cited as indicative of cognitive complexity.

Probablynot too many, Elle does something like this almost every other day on YT: @ellecordova (the bass is her musical partner (or real? idk) Toni)

+1 to recommend Elle! Her fonts stuff is amazing, but her en-dash "...who are you?" is one of the most amazing bits of writing I've found, full stop. I mean, ffs, she manages to turn the description of a punctuation mark into something downright menacing.

Thanks for the recommendation. She is the best kind of human.
