This is wonderful if your oven is off by a consistent amount. My oven the error gets worse the hotter it’s set, so at 300 it’s 10 degrees too cold, at 350 it might be 10 degrees too hot. At 400 it’s 20 degrees too hot. By the time I get to 500 who the fark knows it’s probably closer to 600.
Also my oven isn’t digital. It’s controlled by an old-school bi-metallic strip. How do you even adjust that? Yeah, yeah, I need to buy a new one.
I would not recommend overclocking your oven by 30 degrees without learning a little more about your particular oven. it *might* be fine but if it isn't, the consequences likely won't be fun and will ruin your pizza.
Cool info, but jfc it bothers me when people hold lavalier microphones in their hand like that when it isn't needed (as demonstrated by the end of the video where he didn't do it lol).
If you have a non-computerized oven, you adjust it by pulling off the temperature dial and adjusting the plate or screws behind it so the dial points to the correct temp.
Depending on the oven, it might be as simple as pulling off the temp dial and putting it back on so the right temp now lines up, I remember the one we had growing up was like that
Then you don't need to adjust the oven you need to do is put that thermometer from the video in the oven and slowly adjust then knob until you get various temps and mark them on the knob again.
Sure, easy, heres how if you are a man. Get a slutty belt, the kind depends on your style. Maybe one of those with a huge rounded plate buckle, maybe with some dragons or shit inscribed on it.
Very interesting. During past two days had conversations w/two ppl about baking results differing due to humidity. Definitely saving your post to try out and share. Thx.
Yeah, I've had cookies and especially bread turn out different they they usually do and the only difference was the humidity. It usually has to be very humid or dry to affect things though. Different elevations can change things too.
My home only has a couple of AirCon units, so kitchen in Summer can get ~70% humidity: I have a thermometer / hygrometer combo.
I do to try to use fresh baking soda in recipes that call for it.
Then, random factor. Current batch of 4 cornbread, I was vibing to fav baking albums, began to get tired (bake late after work) and ... as put loaf pan in oven, noticed dough was lower than others: forgot to put blueberries in last cornbread.
Made banana bread a couple of weeks ago. I put sour cream in it. I forget to do that in my first batch. Wondered, out loud, why it was so thick? After it had been in the oven for 10 minutes, I suddenly remembered! Too late. Next batch I didn't forget. My music depends on my mood. Most of the time when I am baking it is either upbeat or heavy metal.
I use yogurt in my blueberry cornbread! Last banana bread batch (I have 4 loaf pans so pretty much just az EZ to make 4 as 1) used unbleached flour; usually add dried fruit & some variety of "chip"; friends like dried cranberry & butterscotch chips; pumpkin seeds & Heath Bar bits was good, too. Music: old Hawkwind when need motivation, sometimes roadtrip mixes from years ago. I've gotten so used to albums that if a track comes on and I'm not at the 3rd loaf I recognize I'm behind schedule.

Mine is broken so its 220°C / 428°F all the time, but that's fine as I only use it for pizza . I use the air fryer for every thing else.

Going to point out that those oven thermometers aren't calibrated any better than your oven.

Don't microphones clip onto anything any more? What's with everyone holding a tiny mic in their hands in videos lately?

It’s for people like Ricky Bobby that don’t know what to do with their hands

It's a dumb trend people are following.
