Gen Xers right now trying to explain and prepare younger generations for what a fascist America is like...
Dannoboyo
Ok, I laughed. Been through Nixon, Reagan, two Bushes, and now the death cult. Your life is still a gift, but don’t expect the meek to inherit the earth

Look on the bright side. In 10 years time we'll look back and go "man, remember when we thought Trump was the worst ever US president? Those were good days...".
...wait, that's not a bright side.
slidewhistlesymphony
Reagan is responsible for the shitshow we're in right now. Beyond that, Rush Limbaugh is to blame for dumbing down our population.
Rayfire3535
Oh come on, don't rob Nixon of his just due.
forcebully
Don't forget Newt Gingrich. He's responsible for the utter lack of civility in parts of Congress.
jakedafish
Except gen xers vote Republican. So they can go fuck themselves.
solrev
We’ve weathered this storm too many times
CJwhoIsKindToAllKinds
Indeed we have...
DrDred
But we keep on keeping on. That's all that matters.
cuddleskunk
The count isn't completely done anywhere yet...and the later counted votes tend to be Dem votes because of increased rates of mail/absentee ballots. My current prediction is that there is a reasonable possibility that neither candidate will get to 270...and then, there is still the chance that the new House does shift blue, which would still mean a Harris presidency. I think a lot rides on the House.
MrStealUrMeme
The first stage of grief is denial. I'm really sorry, man
Br0doSwaggins
They're calling it.
cuddleskunk
That is one source...just one. There are very few places that are done counting.
ImJustFuckingHere
Trump is actually leading among young voters, which is interesting.
1eudaemonia
Ive seen similarities between boomer men and zoomer boys
Skuggen
There was a poll here (Norway), and among young men (18-29), almost half support Trump. So it's not a US-only thing.

Dear Millennials and GenZ, This is your Ronald Reagan moment. The day you're going to look back upon where your generation's collective inaction led to everything going to shit for the next 30-40 years. Sincerely and with deep regrets, Gen X.
Dannoboyo
Sadly, I don’t think the world can take another 40 years of climate inaction. We are a flawed species albeit with some lovely blossoms.
req4adream99
Gen Z voted him into office. Their inaction didn’t do shit.
1eudaemonia
idk im a 40 year old millenial. maybe you mean zoomers
Cabreza
Heck, millennials right now. Zoomers gonna learn what a shit president looks like
Syxcfaq
Maybe more of them should have voted.
CJwhoIsKindToAllKinds
And a stacked Congress and a stacked supreme Court...
Cabreza
There’s all a chance Dems win the house. There are 23 seats that are pretty competitive and they need 10 of those barring some unexpected outcomes on races where a candidate is favored
Revnis
Also filibuster rules even if they are thrown out they can always shit in a trashcan and read the phone book if really needed
Cabreza
I won’t be shocked if, after 4 years threatening Democrats to leave the filibuster in place, senate Republicans immediately throw it out. They’re looking at the senate math and at the moment they appear unlikely to lose the majority in the foreseeable future.
Revnis
Well that's true but the current rules allow for them to basically say filibuster and move on the main rules and what throwing it out would mean is that someone would need to talk to prevent the vote.
