I had a crush on him in high school, not least because I also had a crush on a guy who looked a whole lot like him. Then I went to see Heat, primarily because he was in it. I HATED it and walked out not even halfway through.
I've heard that Heat is an amazing movie, though, so I may have to give it another try.

It's...a long movie. But a masterpiece. I saw it when I was like 15 and thought it was absolutely amazing. I would recommend giving it a watch. I wish I could have seen it in the theater.

Val Kilmer plays 'Nick Rivers' an american musician who is invited to East Germany to play at a cultural festival. Meanwhile the cultural festival is a front for scheming East Germans who want to start World War 3 and have captured a weapons scientist to do it. Rivers is engaged as a spy and hilarity ensues.
It's kind of parody mix of the Elvis wartime movies, Noir spy stuff, and The Great Escape with a bunch of smaller things thrown in.
