Get an egg case of your local species and feed them a ton of fruit flies and springtails. You have a few molts before they eat each other and they'll be easier prey available. Then spread them out in your garden.
In one season, you can go from zero box elder bugs to THOUSANDS of box elder bugs. They kill the trees and seem desperate to get inside homes. Currently poison is my only success.
Box elder bugs are relatives of stink bugs, and release a nasty smell when crushed. They'll also stain fabrics when crushed unlike stink bugs. So they are basically stink bugs but worse.
