My gf's son asks for Amazon gift cards for gifts so he can buy the restaurant supply gallon size tubs of Nutella. He then writes his name on it, and goes through one every few months.

It's because people consistently and inappropriately mispronounced it Nutella rather than Nutella, regardless of what the manufacturers tell you. It tells you the stress is on the N not the U

The official UK pronounciation is Nuh-tella, and the official American pronounciation is Noo-tella. In either case, the TEL is stressed, not the N.
