After being rez’d Aslan reveals he knew some magic shit the ice queen didn’t. If an innocent takes the place of the traitor you get a free life. The act of sacrificing was entirely meaningless knowing his death was inconsequential. Actually pretty narcissistic and sneaky to be honest having bartered with a child’s life at stake.

What would Jesus do?
HitlerHoleThumbBunker
Great misinterpretation.

If you volunteered to be tortured to save your kid's life, then there is no sacrifice because you are still alive when it is done?
IsignedUpWithGmailButDontWantToUseMyName
Obviously!
Valkor
How did he know? It's been waaay too long since I've read it so I don't remember.
Skarwolf
After the Rez he explains to the 2 girls he knew about “deeper” magic then ice queen. Making his entire agreement & sacrifce a fake.
IsignedUpWithGmailButDontWantToUseMyName
The books tell you he knew the whole prophecy while the queen didn't...OP has added his own rules where knowing about it makes it fake

Stating an opinion "really strongly" doesn't make it logic lol

Wow that was quick. Love it.

Not mine, this gif is even better.

So you suggest letting the kid die instead? A kid that doesn't have a rez in store? Your argument seems severely lacking...
Skarwolf
I understand C.S. Lewis wanted to pull a Jesus. However if Jesus knew beforehand he was to be resurrected what would that mean....
IsignedUpWithGmailButDontWantToUseMyName
Well it doesn't really change the transaction. I think we can agree the emotional stakes are different but the price paid (a life) doesn't
Skarwolf
You’re wrong because no price was paid. Aslan knew he couldn’t be killed.
IsignedUpWithGmailButDontWantToUseMyName
But he was killed... You can't be resurrected if you don't die
