Pundits and other talking heads keep suggesting that Trump has a discipline problem... that America is in such poor shape and Trump has such good solutions that this should all be easy for him if only he had the self control to stay on message.
But his solutions are asinine. 10% Tariffs on everyone? Using the military to set up camps to facilitate the mass deportation of millions of people? These aren't solutions... these are the mad ramblings of a man who has lost his faculties. They're fucking INSANE.
The reason he's padding his rallies with personal attacks and culture war garbage is because he has no good solutions at all. Sure, he makes empty promise of deflation and a return to the prices for goods and services we saw 20 years ago... promises that all of our foreign conflicts will magically melt away because he's a badass, but there's NOTHING behind any of this. There's no substantive plan at all to make any of that happen.
It's so obvious that I don't understand what the FUCK they're talking about and it makes me feel like they're secretly trying to assist him in the election by subtly building a narrative that he has plans and a lack of self control, when in reality he has self control but no plans. He's just trying do distract, like he always does.

Flip-flopping on abortion called, "Searching for a position." No questions about the $10 mil from Egypt. No questions on how Vance was vetted. No questions about upcoming trials or sentencing. No questions about the missing classified docs. No questions on how his ear healed so miraculously or when we'll see a doctor's report. 90% of the questions they ask Harris: "How do you respond to this right-wing talking point?"
Hard to see what they'd do differently if they were actively promoting him.

My take: The oligarchs would really like to have (maintain?) their monopolies (media, retail, ISP). The left is a threat. The FTC, DoJ under Harris is a threat. The Right offers tax cuts and deregulation. Of course the billionaire owned media outlets would like Trump to have credibility (even if they dislike him and his cult) so that he might win... or at least so they can extract concessions from the left.

Remember the phrase "never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake". Yes Trump's policies are the same useless garbage the GOP has been peddling for years and it doesn't work. Voters with more than two brain cells already know this. Trump can't win on policy so he's resorting to his tried and true method of attacking people be it their race, gender or assorted name calling. Not only does that kind of thing not resonate with voters it highlights his lack of solutions.

The media tends to take what it *wishes* to be true, and present it as fact. For instance, when right wing news gets angry about woke stuff, it'll declare "WOKE movie fails at box office, proving Americans are tired of woke!" even if the movie does well financially. US journalism is a sham with no integrity.

Yes, and, "right wing media" is fairly redundant. Most US media is pretty far right. NPR is the only outlet that at least gives equal weight to crazy far-right talking heads and moderate libs. AP, Al-Jazeera, and Reuters are also unbiased but not having a bias when one side is lying always is biased towards lying liars who lie.

The only issue that ultimately matters is that all USA politicians are for sale. Quite openly, in other countries it's done in secret and is theoretically illegal. Here its public record and 'fck you'. This is why the media focus on side issues (very important but they would all be fixed if politicians acted in the interests of the constituents rather than the highest bidders)

A lot of news media is about selling you a dramatic story. Harris is the better candidate in every respect and it's the only sensible choice, and that should be the end of the story. But it won't be, because drama keeps people watching. That's why you get shit headlines like "HARRIS DODGES QUESTION" when that interviewer tried to ask her about Trump's remarks on her race.
