Trying to find a job sucks.

The position I tried for is a perfect fit. It's not a "dream" job, but its a good job, one that I feel I could do very well, and it pays decent enough to put the bank account back in black pretty handily. The HR person and I vibed pretty well, too, and I had some good questions, things I felt showed a seriousness and understanding of the work environment and being part of the team. But I can't stop second guessing myself for every little thing I said, or didn't say, and I could be waiting for up to a week before I know if I even get a 2nd interview. I've never been good at selling myself to prospective employers, but I'm a really good worker, just wish I could get something.

I can relate. I went to a couple of interviews recently and did not get a call back. I have a bad habit of saying what I'm thinking and not saying what I think they want to hear.

Ooof. Interviewing sucks. But congrats on even getting that far! I remember all too well how many applications I completed that went absolutely nowhere, or places that said they'd be in touch but you heard nothing from them ever again.
