Nearly everyone has heard of "Where's the Beef?" even if you have no idea what it meant or where it was from. Well, here's another great from that era! Apparently the Kremlin was so honked off that they rejected Wendy's as a sponsor for the 1986 Goodwill games, 2 years later. Humor is subjective, after all...
Created by the legendary Joe Sedelmaier, whose philosophy towards TV commercials was "...you should at least be entertained!"
And boy, did he deliver! This one is has been a family favorite for (REDACTED) years, and still makes us laugh.
Joe delivered quality material that left lasting impressions on viewers, who often say they quote lines from his commercials, even years after completely forgetting where they'd heard them! He passed away earlier this year, and I didn't see or hear any mention of it in the news, which is a real pity.
Here's a compilation of some of his work: https://vimeo.com/409109441

This is how you know it stuck - even with my sound off, I can hear the emcee lady’s voice in my head, however many decades its been since I last saw this ad on TV.

"Swimwear...Very Nice..." is permanently in my head.

It was great having the thick ice of a common enemy. Now the ice is too cracked and thin to safely tread on.
