That is assuming the above is a wood fire and not coal (coal burns a lot hotter). The red/orange glow is fine. The yellow/white at the bottom indicates temp of around maybe 1000-1200C. Melting point of stainless is 1500C. Flying a bit close to the sun for me, but looks worse that it probably is.

it shouldn't as a rule, but a wood fire can definitely make it glow, saw it once at a hunt camp ... one of the guys kept feeding the fire as his bed area was drafty and another guy kept closing the air intake because his bed was close to the fire and was too warm. The conditions were just right that it was glowing and everyone stayed up to make sure nothing nearby caught fire from the radiating heat. One guy lost a pair or boots that melted. Both those guys lost their fire privileges that week.
Think the bag next to it says "smokeless fuel" so I'm guessing charcoal. Would the insulating bricks and shielding be to keep extreme heat from spreading to anything touching that wall?
Yes, insulating bricks will stop the wall from heating up as well as helping to radiate the heat back into the room, which is the same reason it's got that curved plate behind it, to help radiate the heat back into the room. No point heating up the wall, which will in turn just heat up the outside environment. Given this looks like a tin shed/garage then it will be cold normally and pretty much once the fire is turned off will rapidly drop back to outside temperature.

Lastly the blue and green items in the photo look very washed out, which can be the lighting or camera but more likely is post processing to adjust the hue/tint of the image and saturation to bring out the colors of the barrel which would otherwise be much less intense.
Even if it doesn't melt isn't the structural integrity of the metal greatly compromised? I would be more concerned with it collapsing and starting a fire more than it melting.

So for iron that'd be about 1450K (â1180°C), whereas steels can probably start going mushy as early as around 1100K (â830°C). If the stove here is as hot as it looks (digital photos aren't very reliable) then it may in part be over 1300°C.
Given that it's a beer keg and the walls on them are typically only 1.5mm thick steel, yes, I would tend to agree with you. It will be fine, right up until it's not fine and then you have a 1000C angry mess on the floor.

It's freestanding so no house-burning issues. The over all design is portable and collapsible so buildup isn't an issue. Still, seems like this isn't a solution

Get some fun burn patterns down your fingers/hand though. Weird digital lines that look kinda random until you start closing your hand.

What? The theory (adiabatic flame temperature) tells us an air-breathing wood fire can reach nearly 2000°C ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adiabatic_flame_temperature#Common_flame_temperatures ). Iron melts at 1538°C and steel at less (the exact temperature depends on the steel's chemical composition).
