Pet-rified

Jul 4, 2020 11:23 AM

Remember to lock your pets indoors, today is when most pets go missing. Stay safe

They're just naturally nervous little fuzz balls. CBD or Xanax makes things a lot easier on them.

Hate this holiday. I have to drug my dog with CBD just so she’s not shaking in a corner all right.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My dogs oddly enjoy fireworks. Fucking weirdos

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

My dog is a "trained" hunting dog. She will run towards anything you shoot at and gets super happy at any loud bang

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a chihuahua owner, this is hands down my most hated day yearly. (Note: rescued chihuahuas, no one willingly purchases a chihuahua)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What have dogs come to?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Descendant of the mighty wolf

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even my pitbull is afraid of fireworks, but he’s a rescue so anything could be the reason.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Thank you for giving him another chance <3

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My dog loses his mind with anxiety with fireworks

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hey, how’d you get a picture of my Parent’s little yapping dick head of a dog?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I had a yorkie unafraid of thunder and fireworks. Bf set off huge surprise firework while we were outside. He never was the same. Be kind

6 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 4

Did your bf accidentally shoot a large bottle rocket and it ended up ramming his own nuts?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

Kava kava is very relaxing for them

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine aren't little dogs but are terrified of things that sound like gunshots cause of some awful shit when they were young.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

They're fine with thunderstorms vacuuming etc. But this is probably our least favorite holiday.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My 110lb giant chicken Captain doesn’t like fireworks... he shakes the bed as he’s hiding under it.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Got plenty of cat nip, treats, tuna, feathers. and cardboard scratchers to sate my feline friend... on second thought... maybe I need more

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I'm going to yap the entire year because of this." -yappy little shit, probably

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Of course they go missing. It's independence day!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Took my dog to the dog park few days ago. 6 of those high pitched little fuckers started going off while my 65lb dog just stood there.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was like "are you fucking serious?" to the owners. They all left after their dogs wouldn't shut up for the next ten minutes.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

GOD I hate people who don't train their animals.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have that problem with big dogs. My 7lb pom rarely barks, and usually just for the doorbell. But 60-100lbs dogs will not shut up when they

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

see and owners just make the excuse that oh, they just don't recognize she's a dog bc she's so little. Right.. a dog can't smell another dog

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can never understand the people that bring their dogs to watch fireworks. There are always so many "lost dog" posts the next day

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And so it begins...

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My dogs just don’t care, they even just sit as we vacuum around them, no fucks given. Fireworks, thunder storms all loud noises, no reaction

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dog's hearing is much more sensitive than human. Literally hurts their ears.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

my dog literally could care less about noises. He reacts crazy to light reflections though. He doesn’t understand the sorcery.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Most Karens go silent when you begin barking back....

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 6

Too many people treat little dogs like babies. They been discipline like any other dog.

6 years ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 22

You underestimate the amount of people who neglect their dogs and dont train them correctly or appropriately.

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

And exercise and mental stimulation. People want Yorkies and poodles and Papillons to be lazy little lap dogs, but they're really not.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Take a cleansing breath there sarge

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 7

The message is a little diluted but I agree: your tiny dog is still a dog. It needs discipline and structure or it will be a little shit

6 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

I baby the hell out of my 4lb Chihuahua and hes not afraid or fireworks. He will bark a couple times when he hears it and then doesnt care

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I baby my king charles and he knows its not good behavior to bark at the door or the window or noises. He was raised with time and care.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

the point is you CAN do both. but people don’t.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I have a 4lb chihuahua too! Wonderful little guy.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You can still baby your dog while training it properly, you're probably just a good pet owner

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Never understood the people that let/encourage their dog barking. It's not funny/cute when they do it nonstop at 3am. Discipline your dog.

6 years ago | Likes 172 Dislikes 11

No idea how my neighbors don't hear it or are able to ignore it. I hear it and I'm inside, on the far side of my house from their yard!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I train mine to bark at the door. I want people to know I have dogs

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

My dog is a livestock guard dog and will never be taught not to bark. He barks to keep predators away. That being said, I don’t live in a /1

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

/2 live in a city. I’ve also taught him to “settle” which means I heard you and I’ll deal with the problem. He stops barking when I takeover

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I have mine to alert me of people or things by my house. Amazon guy dog barks, car in driveway barks, neighbor being a cunt barks.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I tought Rosko to speak but he only does it on command. He also barks when a car pulls in the driveway. It depends alot on the dog.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Right there with you. An ill trained dog is such a nuisance compared to what you could have with a decently disciplined one.

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Ours has started doing it, but in his defense, it's always been because a raccoon, coyote, or deer is too close to the house.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My dog would get upset if she couldn't bark so I taught her to use her indoor voice and bark quietly instead.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Teach me, master

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dogs bark because they're excited, scared or angry. You don't "discipline" them, just pay attention and change the environmental triggers.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Thanks. I bristled at the word “discipline”, but every time I make an informed comment about dog behaviour the fuckers downvote me to hell.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah, but my neighbor’s dog is “excited” at trees, bushes, grass, and earth. There is nothing exciting as far as the rest of us can see.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My neighbours chihuahua does that too, the ugly little noisy bastard. Itll bark nonstop for hours on end. Neighbour doesn't care.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some breeds are just incredibly prone to barking and you can train most of it away but some things are just not going to take, for example

6 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 4

Then dont get those breeds of dogs if you have neighbors.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I trained my dog not to bark at noises outside the door or people knocking or even people coming in until we had an intruder when I was

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

At home playing games with headphones in, I turned and saw the guy and he threw a picture at me and ran and then my dog started barking

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Now I struggle to discipline him when he barks at a sound at the door

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

See, we don’t discipline ever for door barks for this reason. If we’re walking or she’s in the back yard or in the house just yapping? Naw

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

So fucking true. My crappy doggy spend every other day of the year barking its head off today she might piss herself from a few booms.

6 years ago | Likes 262 Dislikes 16

You should probably not be a pet owner.....

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 18

You should probably stay off the internet

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

People started lighting fireworks on the 2nd and every night after. My cats have been going nuts.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry to hear that, around me it the same they started mid June.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But so is the life of a Jack Russell. I will have 4 white noise machines going and having the little shit hide under some covers with me.

6 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 5

I like you.

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

I like you too stranger.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Get a room you two

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

We might wanna come?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not a bad idea to take your dog out for a nice long walk before it starts getting dark. Let them tire themselves out and be asleep by night.

6 years ago | Likes 370 Dislikes 1

My floof boy hates fireworks and will not sleep while they're going on. We have a tradition now of spending the 4th together, and he'll curl

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

up between my legs (as best as he can since he's 80 pounds lol) and rest his head on my leg while I pet him and hum songs. It calms him down

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Where do you live that they only start shooting fireworks at night? They've been going strong since 8AM here

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Done! 2 humid, gross miles!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Or train them. My cousin's dog can walk for miles and be more energetic than before. But one hour of training and he'd sleep for the rest of

6 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

This! My dog gets the zoomies after almost every walk.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the day. The dog trainer said that some very phisically energetic dogs get exhausted only with mental exercises. (Basic tricks with rewards)

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Because they have to pay attention and use their brain, he said.

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Americans need more training

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

This!!! I have a dingo and she can and will never be tired from exercise. We still play with her but mental stimulation is heaps better!

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Just like the marines

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Except it's so hot and my black lab can barely be outside for more than 15 mins :/

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Lake!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s when I take my dog in the forest where it’s more shaded and leads to a nice refreshing river or lake or ocean swim :)

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Why are you getting downvoted? Tf lol

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good question. Desert people maybe? Haha.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

After that you can take the helicopter back to the resort

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Umm ya except I live in a mobile home.. just happen to live in close proximity to nature is all.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No need to brag.
