Ball Guy Appreciation Post

Apropos of nothing, I'm a huge fan of Ball Guy, that random mascot that would give you free pokéballs in Sword and Shield! I just scored this insane shirt from Japan so it felt right to remind the world of my hyper-niche fanaticism.

I even etch a sketched Ball Guy a few years ago. For some reason the rest of the world lacks my enthusiasm for Ball Guy, so this video never performed particularly well, and at some point I made the egregious mistake of erasing the drawing. I don't often lament the work I erase but I do find myself thinking about this rendition from time to time. C'est la vie. Ball is life.

How can you not love this affectionate goofy goober? Every time he presents you with a pokéball he's just so enthusiastic about it!

Honestly it's been rough out there as a Pokemon fan. Despite the unfortunate lack of merch, I'm grateful to be a fan of characters like Ball Guy who are not being scalped to oblivion. It's rough out there for the Gengar and Charizard lovers of the world, even with the abundance of merch!
