Downy Woodpeckers are little guys, only about the size of a sparrow. This one was violently attacking pecans. I'm not sure if he was trying to open one, or looking for bugs. The bird chirping you can hear in the background is a Carolina Chickadee.

I'm not sure if this is the same individual bird or not. It is the same species, but these are hard to keep track of. Definitely no sound here.

Bonus Northern Mockingbird, hunting for... something. No sound on this one, it was just camera whirrs. I like their little masks.

Mockingbirds are often a pain in the ass, particularly when they are nesting, or set their homes up in a bush in front of your house.

I mean, you'd be pretty upset too, if there was a giant stomping around /your/ kids. Humans are big, loud, scary creatures that like to eat

other creatures, and mockingbirds don't understand property lines. It is annoying, but with excellent reason.
