All those wasps in that one spot might mean they are burrowing into the wood and making a nest in the wall. You should look into that.

Actually, I recently saw a video where some guy poured liquid nitrogen into an in-ground nest and froze them all. He dug the nest out later and it was complete annihilation of the colony. Quite impressive tbh.
