i'm super lucky, there's a book store near me that hosts MtG, DnD, and board game events pretty regularly. that's where i met my group :)

Everybody, Wizards of the Coast runs a program called D&D Encounters. Every Wednesday shops run a story and anyone can join.

Roll20.net is where I do my DnD'ing. Lots of players and groups. I highly recommend it.
