Even against our like minded imgurians. 7 years ago felt like this was the prime spot for quality content, but after this political stuff has gotten out of control there is just a lot of hate and minimal quality content outside of a few consistent dumpers.

You can filter out most of the political posts. Then start hiding users that keep getting around the filter. It's like the same 3 accounts posting all the soul-crushing political content
I don't have any filters on, and I don't really ever see any rampant hate on here. At least not to the level of this place being called a hellhole. Maybe I'm just not engaging with posts I don't care about? I've always had generally positive interactions here.

It's never anything positive, just rallying hate and pessimism which accomplished absolutely nothing but stirring up more negativity and that's really hammered home when I ask "who do we hate" then "who do we love" Look, I'm not saying to ignore the issues, but working yourself and everyone else around you up in this echo chamber isn't changing anyone's minds, it's just making everyone bitter and hopeless.
I did as well. Block list is full to the brim of propaganda accounts, but the damage is done. The 'community' is a hateful, conflicting, opinionated mess of unrest and political views and it manages to find its way into *everything* through the comment section. We're doing it now.
Oh, you mean in these comments. Yeah well, Internet is full of people projecting their trauma unfortunately. Don't let it get to you, there's more good than bad. But nowhere online will ever be perfectly civil because you're not a person to most others here. And they don't need to filter because there's no consequences. Oh well. Still had good encounters here. Well, yeah, except on hot topics. But then, I don't tend to take things personally.
