There’s really no bar too low or bridge to far for these people to try and separate you from your money or steal your info. ( ohh .. but what about their sick puppy and they’re waiting for Dr. Caitlin to tell them to go to the hospital… those are the heart strings they’re plucking ) wish I was Liam Neeson from Taken and could show up at their call center 24 hours from now .. hey assholes , it’s me, Dr. Caitlin , where’s the sick puppy ??

Sure .. it’s possible. Just seems verrry sus to me. Unknown number from LA and I’m in Georgia. Sense of urgency ( if I don’t reply .. their sick dog is missing out on medical care ). I think this is the just the bait to get you engaged

Also .. they don’t identify themselves..
Assuming for the second that it’s legit:
if they don’t normally text the vet, you would think they would identify in the text .. eg Dr. Caitlin .. it’s me John Smith.
If they DO normally text the vet, then the number should be saved on their phone and it’s less likely they text the wrong number.

Not yet… I live in Georgia. Unknown number from LA. I’m not in the veterinary business. Could it be a wrong number ? Sure. It’s possible. Most likely, this is just bait to get a conversation started and then the scam will come. I didn’t wait around to find out.

Its 1:21pm, I know my vet is at lunch. I have no idea if the above expected to be able to text their vet or not. I know I cant text mine. If it was an emergency Id call the office and let them know I was coming in (the desk is staffed even if the vet is out), not trying to text them. It does feel scammy on the surface with out more info
