It's now endemic in political discourse: people just bullshitting, or parroting the bullshit talking points supplied to them; but also people who genuinely, passionately, laboriously try to argue with the aforementioned people using facts, history, and the verifiable state of reality as we live it. Not that one shouldn't have such things in mind, but to a committed bullshit artist it's all beside the point; they exist to waste your time and make it appear that they've "won" the argument.
