Sounds contemporary, doesn't it? Companies, are you listening?

Wages. That's what it (almost) all comes down to. Minimum wage static for decades while the cost of living soars. And why is it a 'minimum' wage anyway? It was always supposed to be a LIVING wage; an amount that exceeds mere existence. A wage that actually provides for the pursuit of happiness. A wage that allows you to indulge in toys for the kids; hell, a wage that allows people to have and raise kids!

Dear companies, no one will buy goods they can't afford (or at least they'll stop once the credit card limit is reached). No one will have children they can't afford. That "domestic supply of infants" thing that SCOTUS wrote into a ruling...does not have to be a problem if you'll just let people HAVE kids.

Legislators: if you will just bite the bullet and start taxing profits as was done before a dozing ex-actor took office in 1980, you'll find that companies will start using their profits for something like, maybe, increasing worker wages and benefits.

I applaud those who are working the absolute minimum for their paltry wages. Repeating myself: minimum wage was supposed to be a LIVING WAGE. Not a screaming-on-the-edge-of-poverty wage.

They've been short changing workers for decades. Productivity rose but pay remained stagnant for nearly 50 years. People can't live on wages, retirements dried up...

the money shifted from the companies to the stocks. once the stocks became what was valuable (a casino for rich people) the actual brick and mortar company stuff started getting the short end of the stick.
