How to deal with online predators.

Hi imgurians, this just happened and I thought you might find it interesting.

My 14 year old daughter came to me earlier today a little freaked by some anonymous middle aged guy trying to befriend her on a popular social chat app. It started off innocently but clearly he was trying to bait her to get more information. This is the first time it's happened so my daughter didn't know what to do and like I said she was a little freaked and asked me to sort it out. So of course Super Dad came to the rescue.

The first thing I did was calm my daughter and let her know she did the right thing coming to me. Then I thought I'll give him the benefit of doubt and (as my daughter) told him that I don't know him and that I don't want to chat. He persisted as expected and tried to be nice and began being creepy.
I let him know her age and told him that what he was doing was wrong and even started showing him that I was uncomfortable and that he shouldn't send anymore messages. Of course, he kept sending messages so I decided to write this message and send it to him.
The messages stopped immediately!!!

By the way, this happened a couple of hours ago, so I guess he'll be having a sleepless and nerve wrecking 24 hours.

I thought about sharing his number so y'all can have some fun with him, but I don't know where I would stand legally and didn't want to risk violating anyone's rights.

The reference number and the named authorities are obviously completed made up, but this dumbass wasn't to know.

I know it's a serious subject and I'm not trying to make light of it, but it was funny seeing this coward run like a little bitch.

Upvote so others can do the same, it was way too easy and these guys are cowards.
