I'm of the opinion that general color classification is blended. For example, orange can also be either red or yellow. (But not both despite being made of both.)

Light sources change the appearance of colors, indirect light from other objects changes how colors look, the glass from windows filters certain wavelengths of sunlight and daylight and changes how things look, cameras then change is further, as does software in editing, exporting and displaying, and then each monitor displays it differently. It is a miracle any colors match at all.

Not exactly. Their mode of communicating and describing color was based in part on color temperature rather than hue. "Red" broadly described warm colors and "blue" broadly described cool colors rather than specifically referring to a specific hue. In Vietnamese the word for green and blue is the same. We just add an adjective to describe what it is most like. Ocean green/blue, grass green/blue, and so forth.

Yes I heard it's actually something common in seafaring Asian languages. I remember watching an explanation about it having to do with the eyes in regards to sun exposure. I haven't been able to find it again :/

In my opinion teal is neither green nor blue. Sexuality is a spectrum, gender is a spectrum, and color is a spectrum.
Categorize it however your heart speaks to you.

Teal = a lot of blue + green. Since the amount of blue in "a lot" doesn't make it any more blue, we can just say
teal = blue + green
Also, Green = blue + yellow
so that would mean
teal = blue + blue + yellow
Same reduction logic with blue gets us
teal = blue + yellow
which then gives us
teal = green
So, logically, teal is green.

If you look at the RGB hex code values for teal, it’s exactly halfway between pure green and pure blue. So including it as green is as ‘wrong’ as excluding it for being blue - it is as much blue as it is green. May as well include it.
