Every time you hear someone say better things aren't possible in the US, remember who we are actually saying that to. Do not vote for politicians backed by Jewish Supremacists, they WILL backstab you.

Our inaction is killing people. Our refusal to break from the Republican-Democrat duopoly in an effort to protect our way of life is killing people. Every time you feel like you don't want to "rock the boat" and simply want things to "return to normal", remember that the "normal" is exactly what has been killing Palestinians, what has been killing Iranians, what has been killing Lebanese, what has been killing Iraqis, what has been killing Afghans, what has been killing Syrians, what has been killing Libyans, what has been killing Yemenis, what has been killing Somalis, what has been killing Pakistanis, etc, etc.

Our way of life is propped up with the murder and subjugation of millions of other people, and we must stop attempting to preserve it. A return to "normal" is a moral failure. And believing either of the two parties—who are joined at the hip with the military industrial complex, corporations, and Israel—will somehow usher in any kind of social improvement is beyond delusional at this point.

We cannot vote for Zionist-backed politicians, and you have to be comfortable with things not improving in the short term so that we can actually achieve change in the long term.

The current war with Iran is entirely supported by both political parties. Twice a bill has been put forward on the House of Representatives to stop or curtail the war with Iran, and both times it miraculously fails when a different set of Dem party members breaks from the fold and votes in favor of war.

Meanwhile, people are suffering the worst economy of their lives. But do not worry, those Israeli-backed politicians will surely protect you from their donors. So you must vote for them regardless of what they say or do. When they say they will back Israel above the lives of their constituents, you must ignore that so that team blue can win. When they say there will be no war they will not support at behest of Israel just as Israel invades another country, you must ignore that so that team red can win. The voting options immediately available to you will be exactly what they say are your only choices, and in order to ever find any way out of the duopoly, you must stop believing those are your only choices.

Here's an old clip from Lawrence O'Donnell telling you the same thing. He was right back then, and I can only wish he kept that up, but the powers at be are exceedingly good at repressing dissent in such a way that they make you think you decided to stop fighting.

Fighting for your rights and the rights of others will not be easy, and you will not be able to achieve any goal by wishing for things to go back to normal. Voting for politicians that can't even utter the word "genocide" in regard to Palestine tells you all you need to know about what they will do once in office. Therefore I posit that you must be willing to reject their false dichotomy. You must be willing to stand up. And more importantly, you must be willing to invite discomfort.

Yeah, and this is how Trump got reelected. This will also be how every other Trump Wannabe will get elected. Not voting for the Dems and helping them not get elected doesn't cause them to suddenly start to listen to the "left". It causes them to blame the "left" for losing.

The ONLY way to get the Dems to listen to the left, is for the left to have a viable alternative. Another option that we can vote for that has a real chance of winning.

Till that viable alternative exists? You still need to deal with a shitty "lesser of two evils" situation, because make no mistake, if you're on the left, the Democrats, however shitty they may be, ARE going to be a better option than the GOP. Harris WOULD have been a MUUUUUCH better POTUS than Trump could ever be.

Canada has like, six, political parties, its not that hard

Canada has an entirely different election system, constitution, etc. Not that I'm against reform but oh boy it is 'not' easy.

These are just more excuses though. Mexico, France, Germany, UK, Brazil, Russia, and pretty much every single other country in the world, has a different election system, constitution, economic situation; and each of them them STILL has more than 2 political parties.

Casual reminder that the founding fathers didnt want the usa to have a two party system... so somewhere along the way the americans went off script and fucked up

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Oh they did! B/c the founding fathers did not think about that kind of contingency. B/c Canada, amazingly, developed their election methodology After the US did. So obviously things can be better, but the US is stuck using what they have until the entire thing is either Amended, or Rewritten.

Some people seem to think the two-party system exists because voters want it that way and not because of how our elections work.

The two-party system exists because voters let it exist.

How?

They ensure other parties are not on the ballot, like was the case of the Green party in 2024 and right now this election in CA where Butch Ware was illegally prevented from appearing on the ballot (the excuse was that he forgot to redact an address and a phone number and gave him 10 MINUTES to submit a new form IN PERSON, knowing he lives in Santa Barbara and couldn't get there in time).

After culling the candidates, they then guilt-trip you into voting for "viable" candidates only.

the american voter let gazans down by letting trump win office.

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Yes, but ALSO by letting Biden win office, under whom the latest state of the genocide started. The heaviest bombardment of Gaza happened under Biden.

im sorry you are so blind. the difference between the Biden admin and Trump admin is night and day, in all ways including applying pressure to isreal vs literally going to war for them.

Sometimes showing is better than arguing. I was looking at some past clips I had and here's a telling moment from October 25th 2023. Biden was asked about the thousands of people Israel had killed in Gaza up to that point as reported by the Gaza Health Ministry (the same org that the White House trusted and had used for years in their own internal reports), and Biden replies that he doesn't believe the numbers. Essentially says fake news and ignores reality.

Trump is definitely worse, by a wide margin. That doesn't mean Biden is good. Biden did worked together with Netanyahu to sell you a genocide. Biden officials even admitted to reporters once out that Biden did exactly nothing to persuade Israel against genociding Palestinians. That you believe the "working tirelessly for a ceasefire" lie so late into 2026 shows how well the propaganda machine works.

so you agree that trump is worse than biden. And when presented by a choice between the two you chose the best of the two, not the worse. that's it. Not voting allows the worse to win. If you want better presidential candidate, it starts with cleansing from the bottom up. In the meantime, choose the best of what choice you're presented with, no choosing is choosing for the worse, always.
