This is just one of those things that doesn't stand up to the bullshit test. Like, is the whole exercise ruined if you don't place your tongue just right? And if he's so convinced by the science, why not cite his fucking source. I'm open-minded, but until I see peer reviewed proof, I call bullshit healing crystal territory.
I'm not saying there's any science behind it, but I am saying that I'm currently studying with a Shaolin teacher, and we do this exact movement in one of our Qi Gong exercises. Just an odd connection between 1500 years ago and now, I guess
Even faster, just lie on your back with a neutral body posture (as loose as you can) and breathe steadily and deeply. It's basically the fastest way to "reset" and "reactivate" the parasympathetic nervous system following low- to mid-level stress (from shock to working out, any kind of physical stressor really). No weird position needed.
Yeah, standing just isn't fucking relaxing. If there was anything that would have an impact, surely it would be prone. Also there IS research that shows floor time is super helpful.
Yep. I know following a work-out in particular, it was compared to sitting, standing, and kneeling (I think?), and a loose supine position (lying on the back or with the face upward) was around 3 times faster than other methods for "resetting" the parasympathetic nervous system. Most of these silly positions and tongue rubbing weirdness is just not necessary.
Take healthcare advice from an anonymous video. And we bitch about Rober F. Kennedy running the federal healthcare system. As Elvis said, "I'm going to the bathroom to read."

... and do it regularly, eight times a day. No matter where you are, take 45 seconds to do this. It's for the best.
