I live in northern Michigan so I find this extra disappointing. I think the owner is already off FB and may have changed the name of her salon already. Sauce: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2023/07/12/studio-8-hair-lab-traverse-city-refuses-trans-clients/70406640007/

"You know what would really help business? Turning away potential customers in a rude and extremely alienating way based on something they can't control."

Seriously a hair salon turning away the gay community? Brilliant

Has there been a case of an LGBTQ business turning away conservative Christians?

A “conservative Christian” probably wouldn’t knowingly go to an LGBTQ+ establishment.

From the article: ""(A) haircut should be considered beyond the scope of the decision, which applied only to businesses that are 'expressive in nature' and designed 'to communicate a particular message,'" she told USA TODAY." - and she's right. Expect this business to get sued if the don't go belly-up due to bad press.

It was probably already doing poorly and she just gets to use this as an excuse now.

They have as much right to go out of business as anybody else.

That's what I'm waiting to see. A scotus ruling that (some) people are guaranteed profits.

That's what stuff like PPP loans with 0 repayment necessary are for.

Hello fellow troll

Oh crap, that was a stupid comment! For the rest of the internet, i mean a lower peninsula person. Not the internet kind!

ok, why troll, what is the story behind that?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We have a bridge that connects our upper and lower peninsula, so anyone who lives in the lower peninsula lives "under the bridge" like trolls from folktales and such. We have a lot of nicknames for a lot of things and I'm just now realizing how weird that is...

Trolls live south (under) the Mackinac Bridge, Yoopers live in the upper peninsula

The yoopers are called that because they say yoop a lot

LOL I knew what you meant! I’m also a Yooper Wannabe but not a Fudgie!

Even us Wiscansan's know better than to trust Yoopers. Maybe moreso... we have to share a border with 'em!

I think it's a Michigan thing. The peninsula is a bridge and people in the main part of the state are "under" it; trolls live under bridges. At least that's how I'm interpreting it.
