In the fullness of time, I hope that Israel and Jordan will become the Republic of Palestine and will be home to a mixed population of Muslims, Jews, Christians, Druze and secular Palestinians. A state which, like Lebanon, Syria and Egypt, will be a member of the EU.

Nations should offer citizenship to Israeli citizens that want to leave and no longer support the Israeli governments actions. Give them a safe gaven to show their support for humanity and rejection of barbarism.

Problem is, even the ones protesting don’t want Israel gone. They also don’t want to cede back any stolen land, nor do they actually see the nation-state of Israel as illegitimate. The protests aren’t about Israel the nation, they’re about Israel’s actions, and more specifically how the PUBLICITY of those actions is making Israelis look on the global stage. Less than 5% of Israelis are actually against the war according to the most recent polls, no Zionist is “a good one”.

Never said they were and I’ll never say they are. Fact remains though, that the OVERWHELMING population majority of Israel are proper Zionists, with their only Jewish opposition IN Israel largely being solely the Haredi and other ultra-orthodox, but critically also ultra-minority, sects of the Jewish faith. Judaism and Zionism are inextricably linked, that’s a fact, but you are right that not all Jews are Zionists even while all Zionists are Jewish. And no, Christian Zionists are not the same.

The one that was blocked was proposed by the Spanish PM. I'm very fuzzy on EU processes but I think citizenship initiatives like this follows a different flow.
So yeah, still useful and still worth pushing. I signed a while ago (I was actually looking into how to do exactly this) and shared with all my networks. Thanks for your efforts.

Exactly this. Elections matter more than ever right now, every single one. Italy is a reminder that democratic backsliding doesn't happen overnight, but it accelerates fast once it gains momentum. The answer has to be organizing and showing up, every time.
