I’ve been trying to be smart with very minor investments as far as being socially and economically viable. I’m just getting lapped by people investing the same in companies, whom are sacrificing jobs and environmental impact for short term gains. Especially, the tax loopholes…….. HOW DO WE ENACT CHANGE IF OUR DOLLARS ARE STILL DRIVING THE PROBLEMS?

Look up socially responsible investing. It excludes a lot of companies like big tobacco.
Mobius96
Illegitimate loopholes are a crime, loopholes can be perfectly legal and that's fine.
Pmmeyourink
You don't. Ship is going down, might as well have a comfortable cabin.

The only thing certain to make sure we don't right the ship...

Choices: 1. Work for company that uses tax loopholes. 2. Invest in company that uses tax loopholes. 3. Poverty. Pick one.
elethomel
false dilemma. i work for a municipal utility and don't invest. v close to the median individual income, well above poverty

Can confirm. Work for a small, privately owned company. Made enough money to buy my house at 21. Currently building a sizable nest egg
elethomel
pretty smart how they roped folks with extra spending money into feeling a sense of ownership or power in this system via small investments
elethomel
you can't enact change. the few dollars you might throw at the problems one way or the other aren't enough to make any difference
elethomel
ship is going down. should you have a comfortable cabin? can you, with a clear conscientious? up to you. how complicit do you want to feel
MrPappagiorgioFromYuma
As little as possible. That’s the point. Obv, I’m not proud to admit; but it’s a fact: there is a point of diminishing returns for everyone.
