A collection of memes that my best friend and I have shared between each other since forever. Metal, literary, cats and (literal) cheese.

Later edit: daaaaayum I never expected this to be the most polarizing meme of them all, still waiting for that Eric Draven cosplay

Cat tax

Sorry, can't talk, stuck endlessly turning in the magic roundabout

#17 of course they didn't, they had their children before they died of skin cancer or whatever else. It's fine though, they died looking 90 at the ripe age of 45. Some of them died from eating the wrong mushroom too but you don't say "My ancestors didn't need a Field Guide to Edible Fungi" or maybe you do, if you're an idiot.

#32 I don't have long, flowing hair, a strong and square jaw line and I'm also not the son of someone famous. Oh, and I didn't that in high-school, but no one thought I was cool

You also didn't get shot by an "unloaded" gun (hopefully)

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#13 I'd watch it.

#20 lacuna coil had a much bigger impact on me at that time than evanescence

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

both of us managed a restaurant or two. we are both, at the same time...

Milk? Date is flexible. Processed food? Lol date means nothing. Chicken? Date is gospel

#6 “Bukowski was a jerk. Berryman was best. He wrote like wet papier-mâché and he went the Hemingway; weirdly on wings and with maximum pain. And we call upon the Author to explain.”

#32 Because we aren’t in high school in the late 90s-mid2000s anymore?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I dunno, one of my mantras is "dress to make your high school self proud"

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Holy shit, I forgot about Lacuna Coil.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Everyone did :(

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They were live at the biggest metal festivals in Europe couple of times and still touring even in the US. Not at all forgotten <3

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Squidward Cullen.. I'm dying.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

#7 never liked the movie anyway, but this I hated with white hot intensity ... the implication that streamlining her looks somehow improves her

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The people at The Telegraph clearly did not see an impending controversy. Maybe someone should have raised a hand.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Explain? Asking for a friend.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Many people found the black logo, surrounded by white, encased in red was a little too similar to the Nazi flag. I see the correlation, but it just looks like shitty planning and lack of oversight - to me.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#43 Roses are red, this is The Shire. Potter, have you seen Jerry Maguire?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#32 men, answer the question!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i communicate in song lyrics in the hope peopela roudn em get when im attention seeking...er feeling stuff

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#16 that last track is for the aftercare

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#20 first time I heard of Lacuna Coil was in Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, and it was epic. They were robbed.

3 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I saw them live last year with Apocalyptica, and once before about 15 years ago. They've actually only gotten better, show was awesome!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Holy fuckin shit I forgot about those guys, now I am off for a nostalgic music dive

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lacuna Coil did well enough and got their big spot in the metal scene. All the licensed Vtm:B tracks were bangers: Chiasm-Isolated, Ministry, Tiamat-Cain 🤘 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y33hGaEgW7U

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That new logo *is* striking, recognisable and exceptionally indicative. And they're probably all aware what it looks like, and they want it so.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

#20 a mention of Lacuna Coil in the wild? Can it be? I saw them live, they were great!

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

#12 -- synchronicity. Scrolled up on it just after the radio started the song. Should I play the lottery?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#38 I thought the black album was one of their better putings?

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I liked and still like the black album, but it was the start of their slide toward more standard metal/rock/commercial music rather than like, uh... speed metal? I guess? (I'm not the best metal fan/historian) But it wasn't Load, which was an ENTIRELY different sound that a lot of fans hated. My favs are still Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

AJFA, still my favorite. Even if its just 3 of them playing! .... sad noises

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Better than what came later? Definitely

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#2, i said dark, not nerdy.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

Why not both?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Malefic is nerdy?

3 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 1

I didn't even bother with UD on this. I don't need to know.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No joke but my millennial ass would love to read more of it, language is hilarious

3 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

It's somewhere between extremely entertaining and highly triggering for me, but I think that's largely because I've had to work with a lot of Gen Z kids, and some of them are straight up incapable of speaking in any fashion other than this. I'm all for using your slang and lingo, but learn to speak relatively formal english as well, if only so you can communicate with people from other generations more easily.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One for 'They Cloned Tyrone', please.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#11 is it because it's vaguely nazi-ish or is there something else?

3 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

That or the eye of Sauron

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

yeah i'm not sure. I see the nazi ish aspect, and it's also illegible.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The typeface is a similar style to Fraktur, which non-Germans might mistakenly associate with the Nazis.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

To German eyes that font on such a background is extremely suspicious. There's no doubt in my mind this was intentional

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

there's no mistake here. Germans see what they're doing just like everyone else.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't say vaguely...

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Not really "vaguely"

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

well they don't explicitly say, but yeah seems to be nazi-ish. also, the Daily Telegraph is one of the right wing outrage publications that would definitely want to fan white fascism. so probably not an oversight.

3 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 1

Actually effective design then to feel Nazi-ish for Nazis, but not technically Nazi, so they can bullshit critics.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

While it certainly has a right-of-centre perspective, historically The Telegraph helped recruit for Bletchley Park and was the first paper in the UK to report the start of WWII.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Weren't most of the allied nations right wing conservative governments? Labor movements were the enemy of the ruling business class. And hitler was a threat to both groups in thise nations. Forceing uneasy internal alliances within british and france.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was 90 years ago and counting. I think we'll have to judge by its content today, not a century ago

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Abraham Lincoln was Republican. That doesn't mean that the Republican Party hasn't openly welcomed people waving Nazi flags at their rallies, taken speaking engagements at events where there was a Nazi flag on stage, or literally had a swastika for a stage.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah, and historically the Republicans were the party of slave-freeing Lincoln. Things change over time.

Roses are red; This is the Shire; Harry Potter memes; Are like chewing on wire.

As a trans person, I hate HP, and I hate that JK took it from me (though the later learned about antisemitism is even worse imo) however, what I wish the most is that I could stop caring about the people who still celebrate it. Most of them aren't doing it out of spite. We grew up with it, it was magic for us. My feels are hurt though and I want everyone's feels to be hurt, which is wasting my time and energy.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 6

All the fans I know are for Potter and against Rowling. I think that's okay. The art has taken on a life that the author cannot control at this point. JK ca

Ditto to all of it

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You done fuc* up, Harry Potter.

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Okay but she literally used her dandruff for her drawing... So maybe a little makeover was needed...

#27 Anne Rice > Stephanie Meyer. Kind of didn't like The Vampire Chronicles after the third book though.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

If only they had made another movie based on her books. I loved Interview. Its just a shame they NEVER made another movie based on that series. Not ONE! such a crime!

It was a blank, but there was a piece of another round stuck in the barrel, the blank shot that out and not killed him.
