This was me for BG 3 and the golem. I just planted all the explosives i could at the very obvious "the boss is coming from here" sewer grate. Didn't know about the lava but when the boss stepped in - blew up as iniative was rolled and died lol.

Leave a Druid at the top of the stairs out of combat, start the fight, switch back to the Druid, transform into an Owl Bear and take one of the potions that increases your size by 1, deal 10k damage by using the leap attack onto the golem from the stairs and insta-kill it. Or at least that's how I did it a long time ago. Extremely funny and I couldn't stop giggling for like 10 minutes.

I think my first run I used my Tav, a paladin, Karlach, Shadowheart, and Gale. It was just a matter of using spells that works and bludgeoning damage.
