Very good depiction. When you cannot a priori decide whether they are dumb or assholes or just don't like you or just don't care. Either way, you eventually end up fucked. Encountering the rare combination that all four are not true... I'm not betting on that. I need proof, and a lot of it. And even then I'm not sure. Not because that's me. But because it has been a lot of other people.

In the past this was often practiced, but nowadays it is very rare.

This feels weirdly targeted

And then once you get past, you hit the hazard lights, and let them blink twice for "thank you"

Never seen a bus signalling like this. So the left light means cars approaching and the right means the coast is clear?
leandro323
In uruguay or argentina is very common

The last thing anyone needs is confusion on the roads.

You wouldn't pass if the bus signaled that they are merging into the left lane.
So by signaling left, saying "don't go yet."
Signaling right as in, I'm getting out of your way.
It makes sense.

This isn't a standard thing. That was just a bus driver hoping the car behind understood what they were saying.
ExtraWoody
Am I the only one who would have pulled out on the left blinkers??
Corrodias
I'd have thought the bus driver was an idiot, repeatedly trying to signal that they were going to change lanes into oncoming traffic.
