I really hope you didn't just take it back outside and release it. For mice, if you want to stop them from coming back, you need to drive them at least 2km from where you live, or they'll quickly find their way back and you'll have a cute fuzzy visitor once more

Sounds like the mouse was forcefully brought into the house by a cat and wasn't actually living there, so I'm sure in this case it'll be alright. Poor mousie probably doesn't ever want to go back there after this ordeal, cracker notwithstanding. :D

Yeah, they know better than to come in the house, given that we've got two cats. When we find one, it's always a present from our girl cat. She's very good at catching them without injuring them.
My wife said she read somewhere that cats do this because they think humans are like kittens that need to be taught how to hunt!
