when I'm 95 and completely deaf and my brain has turned to jelly, I'll still be able to hear this

Ah, days off school pretending I was sick. Until about 3.30 when I suddenly felt better and wanted to play on my bmx.

Our very funky pediatrics professor used this to teach us monozygotic and dizygotic twins. Basically depending on when (day post fertilization )a zygote splits for identical twins determines if they share amniotic sacs and what not (always have their own umbilica) and tells you of it was from a single zygote or multiple. ๐ŸŽถ1, 2, 3 (Di, di), 6,7,8 (mono, di), 11,12 (mono, mono).

My niece was counting something the other day. I started singing this. She just stared at me like she was waiting for my head to explode.

There were 11 different versions of this. They didn't make one for 1.

It was these shorts during Sesame Street that got me into all sorts of genre of music.
Disco is in my soul because of the โ€œstreetsโ€

This reminded me of being a kid...cozy, without a care in the world. My parents were still alive....man, I miss them sometimes

My ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher would play this for us when we were learning our numbers, thank you very much for sparking up such a wonderful memory.

They played it for decades. Millennials watched it, also

Was gonna say, I absolutely remember watching this on TV when I was a child, and I debuted in '85.

I saw this many times when I was young, and everytime all I could think of was "that's physically not possible." Yeah, I was that kid.

What a fuckin banger. The funk jams went hard af on classic sesame street... right in the childhood.

When I was working night shift I would watch "Sesame Street" every day before going to bed, Good Times!

Doesn't need sound, we all hear it. We always will. Forever.

I hear this song daily. I have for years. It never ends. Only the sweet release of death will give me peace and even then I fear this haunting melody will follow me. 11, 12 indeed.

Yes and will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

1. "You all" are a minority when you count everyone on earth
2. You won't hear it forever because everyone will be dead some day

I heard the music without unmuting lol. Good this was my childhood. Getting up at 7am to watch cartoons before school. I also remember around Halloween when fox had that white bat mascot and all those good Halloween shows.

I've said it before here and I'll say it again: the best song about twelve/counting-to ever recorded

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Agreed, but "Three is the Magic Number" is pretty groovy, too (especially the Blind Melon version)!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure I can go that far. Do you not remember the Ladybugs Twelve!?!?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX9J7WcYtxI

Peak animation greatness

This was sung by the Pointer Sisters. Charles Cornell does a great analysis of this on YouTube.

I love that breakdown of the song. it really is absolutely wild. so glad I grew up to this.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm so excited!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Great? it's close to amazing. He's a talented dude.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I love that video! Charles Cornell is awesome. He has a video about the Close Encounters of the Third Kind soundtrack. That movie scared the shit out of me as a kid, even though actual horror movies did not (my mom let me watch Carrie and Nightmare on Elm Street with her lol) but watching Charles' video made me want to try that movie again, and damn. That's a good movie.
