It all started with a tweet.

The dude makes snarky comments to a comedian, who in turns rallies his followers to his GoFundMe -- what originally had only $600 of his $5k goal, he literally reached his goal in less than 30 minutes after Patton tweeted his link (and donating $2k from his own pocket).

If you feel compelled to help, his GFM is here: https://www.gofundme.com/help-after-sepsis-and-hospital-plus-recovery

Love this man. He got me through so many days at work. Listening to his stand ups.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So the lesson is to be a jerk, right??

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It started all with a tweet how did it end up like theese

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because Patton Oswalt is Jeebus, and that's what Jeebus does.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s up to over 15k now.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Loved Patton as Constable Bob in Justified.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s chaos, be kind.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

the guy changed his tune cause of the money, not cause of the "love"

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I've worked with Patton before and can say his smile genuinely warms your soul. He's a beautiful man

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not sure what’s to hate about him!

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Purely personal perspective? He isn't fucking funny. Well, that's not entirely fair. He's better Will Ferrell by a mile, but low bar, etc.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Probably just him being an outspoken liberal.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That’s Christianity right there like it’s supposed to be done. Turn the other cheek, meet hate with love.

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 10

That's humanity, not religion.

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

It's humanity AND Christianity.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trump and GOP supporter needs healthcare... ya don’t say.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yo. Its up to $30,305.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hate is an absence of love.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Holy crap Patton. Good on you.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Sooo. Patton just used his money and purchased this guy. People are bought and sold on moments notice.

When harmful words result in an outpouring, we're just reinforcing bad behavior.

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 70

yea, it's a double edged sword in this situation tho

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

You must've missed the part where the guy said he reflected on the way he acts.

7 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 1

If only more Democrats and Liberals were capable of learning from situations like this...

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 22

...what?

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Patton Oswalt is trying to make amends after promoting attacks on a 16 year old

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Patton has always seemed like a good guy. Glad to see it’s true.

7 years ago | Likes 114 Dislikes 3

HE FOUGHT HATE WITH LOVE AND IT FUCKIN' WORKED! I LIVE FOR SHIT LIKE THIS!

And money

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*would like to correct myself and say "people" instead of "celebs"

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If only other well meaning celebs would take a hint from this instead of vilifying people with differing opinions.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is a beautiful man

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Perfect gif. This man is so amazingly kind and I love him. Nicer than he has any right to be :)

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It kills me this country has to hold fundraisers for medical care. It lifts me that so many people will help a stranger.

I destroy my enemy when I make him my friend - Lincoln

HUZZAH!

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

when some guy you're being an asshole to does more for your health than the government you support and pay taxes to........

7 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 7

...and you're being an asshole towards him because he thinks the government could do better...

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

wot? your comment makes no sense.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The only reason this guy was being an asshole to Patton is that Patton is a liberal, i.e. the sort who believes in universal healthcare. 1/

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's ironic, because this guy votes against his own best interests.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

See, I get that part - I just don't get how I was being an asshole, who you think I was being an asshole to, or how to decipher your comment

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

His newest set (annihilation) was pretty bad,

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 17

Trying to get some of that Oswald money huh?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ha I wish but I'm not dying, I'm just an asshole I guess

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you mean 'bad' as in awful, or 'bad' as in 'bad ass'? I thought it was amazing.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

There were 2 good parts, the rest was meh and he spent a large chunk going on about how orange man bad

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

You don't beat hate with more hate.

7 years ago | Likes 724 Dislikes 8

I mean you can. it's funnier.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Doesn't work in all situations though. In some situations it's rewarding bad behavior which just encourages it to continue

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

sith vs sith

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think this applies to wasps. Can we all agree that they hate us as much as we hate them?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can. Sometimes you must, lest more innocent people suffer. Wisdom is knowing when to choose compassion and when to choose hate. See WWII

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There's room for the right hand path and the left hand path. That's why you've got two hands.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that's the batman fallacy you're quoting there buddy. if you murder enough murderers then the world is at a net positive, so kill away

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You beat it with jumper cables

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wrong! Dox a Catholic school boy, punch a "Nazi" the only way the good guys win!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Amen. Especially pertinent in today's political climate.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You just aren't using enough hate.

7 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 5

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

*chuckles in nuclear holocaust*

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Break ? The ? Hate ? Cycle ?

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

apathy and entropy > hate and cycles

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not with that attitude you don't

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some hate is not willing to learn. Some hate will never compromise. You can't hug compassion into someone leading you to the gas chamber.

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Only a Sith lord deals in absolutes.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I mean, I did say "some".

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sorry i didnt clarify i was talking about the same people you were talking about. Not you. They are Siths.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is the hate that will die out on its own as it ages... unfortunately slow as it may be... most others can be taught.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I have always figured that "true" evil is mercifully rare.

7 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 2

Do you mean the person holding it will die of old age, or...?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Humanity will reject it as a whole and a new generation with a more empathetic mind with replace them in time.

7 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 2

Wake me up whenever the fuck that happens because it's 2019 and we still have nazis in the fucking streets. Hate's not dying out on its own.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is a terrible saying. You absolutely can.

7 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 12

Your not beating hate though. Your just replacing it with stronger hate.

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Yeah, It's a win win situation.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah but you've beaten THEIR hate. I like my hate. It's mine

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Just don't leave survivors!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Superhate > Regular Normie hate.

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Super jail for super haters

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

apathy > superhate/anger/grudge

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Let's dig through twitter and see what god ol patty boy had to say about the framed covington kids.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The covington kids weren't "framed". They were out there intentionally being chodes. Didn't deserve the death threats and shit though.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If by "chodes" you mean "booing homophobia and racial slurs" then sure.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was referring to them harassing random women walking through DC but sure go ahead with whatever defense you prefer.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So you've got proof of that from somewhere other than the people who've been lying since day 1 about them?
