Freeland resigns from cabinet and you think the gov't is IMPLODING.... come on. It was inevitable for Trudeau's closest to start walking away after nearly a decade of power. Justin needs to make way for a new leader. Also... Liberals AND Conservatives are shit and don't give a fuck about the common people... if Justin wants to let his ego get ahead of his party, let them lose the next election.

That's never going to happen. Joining the US is *deeply* unpopular in Canada, so Canada becoming part of the US would only happen through force or threat of force. And you don't turn around and give state's rights to conquered or annexed territory.

Not particularly, but that was true long before Freeland resigned. Incumbent governments have lost a lot of elections lately around the world, punished for inflation and price gouging, among other things.
Trudeau might squeak out another minority, because Poilievre remains deeply unpopular in a lot of Canada, but I think that's a long shot at this point. The electorate wants a change, and to too many Canadians still, the only viable parties are the Conservatives or the Liberals

So, with the loss of his highest ranking cabinet member when she was supposed to deliver the federal fiscal update with all political parties calling for his resignation, including members of his own party; it was a word I wrote discribing the situation that warrented rebuke.
I don't see Trudeau squeaking out anything other than a majority government for the conservatives. Instead of stepping down years ago, he'll be handing over power to an online troll when Donald is returning down south.

Yes, it's 'imploding' I object to. That suggests a sudden sharp failure, when the reality is a long, ongoing decline in popularity and prospects.
Trudeau stepping down is unlikely to change much IMO. It'll still be the liberal party, who've been governing for almost ten years at this point.
