Subaru’s are AWD and you will fuck it up pulling it like that

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First time I saw this, it was noted that the rear was disconnected for the tow

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

how ? leave in N and you will fine , the older models like this one pic. is not AWD all the time it has a SLP and the front only gets power

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when it slips , also the diffs have oil so you arent burning anything up

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hahaha 404 page not found ,lol also i am factor trained tech for both Cars and motorcyles so yeah

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then you should know that AWD cars can only be towed on trailers or flatbeds

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ans tell me your reasoning for that? The AWD outbacks of this year can be towed like this as its not really all the time.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when in nurtal only the rear wheels will turn and will not transmitt power to the front wheels.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it would take a lof of these boxes to explaine it you how it works .

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except they're parked in front of Outback

7 years ago | Likes 634 Dislikes 21

They should have parked outback

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This is where outback’s go to mate.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope; the Outback has signs in front and...out back in the parking lot

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That actually is the back side of that outback, I've been there, and know the owner of the Outbacks (cars)

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Australia everything is opposite

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Hampton inn sign is the tell, they’re out back.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve been here. This is the back. The front is beautiful with a waterfall and a petting zoo.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It says parked out back AT an outback, not OF. They could be parked out back of a bank, at an Outback.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Ah the ol loop hole

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's all about perspective

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And by the looks of that trailer, there's no way they're going to back out.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bet youre fun at parties

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Just let them have it. Everyone needs a bit of wiggle room.

7 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

No, it's satanic.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, it’s Santana

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Outback’s are awd right? That seems like a good way to burn up your center dif.

7 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 1

if this is a stick you cam leave it out of gear and you will befine , even if was an auto you would fine, thats why diffs have gear oil

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Nah not at all.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Outbacks* plural not possessive

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He removed the driveshaft

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can remove the driveshaft and tow it that way.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Depends on the the year, there was a time pre/early 2000's that subaru had non-awd for their main line of cars.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The front wheel drive Subaru died in 1996 that is when they discontinued the FWD setup.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Boom, thanks, i had found out from a garage when i took my old forester in and they asked if it was awd and i looked at them funny.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah. I have an outback. The manual is very specific about not towing the car this way. Gotta use a flatbed.

7 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

why ? what are you going to hurt ? the diffs have oil in them which will protect it . even if its getting towed

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Ruins the vcf by overheating which becomes stiff and fucks your transmission

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You've read your cars manual? Whatyearisthis.jpg

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Pull the driveshaft, it's fine.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Unless you disconnect the diffs. Which, I’ll admit, it’s highly unlikely unless the one behind is a parts car... hmmm... might be. Iunno.

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Looking at the quality of the exterior of the towed car, its not an unlikely scenario

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

When this was originally posted, it was marked that the rear was disconnected *nods*

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Some of the Subarus have a fuse that you can put in at the main box or under the hood to put them in FWD and shutdown the rear dif.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Doesn’t matter driveshafts still going to spin

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is true but it is disabled in the transition.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still going to ruin the vcf via overheating and when vcf gets overheated it gets stiff. Which will fuck the transmission overtime

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

CVT transmissions did not start until the 5 gen subaru Legacy and outback. The one in the photo is a 3rd gen.
