honestly not sure, but they always had that access. The question is why are sending those letters. Feels like shaming people into voting.

I support mandatory voting, with certain exceptions for valid religious or health related reasons. Make it easier to vote though as well.

Nothing says freedom like compulsory voting. Since most of the 21 countries with mandatory voting allow a blank vote you're just wasting

I really disdain that kind of "freedom" mentality. Society doesn't function without compromises and voting is an important one.

There are many duties that everyone participes in as part of a society, obeying laws, paying taxes. But mandatory voting is compelled speech

Mandatory voting is only compelled speech when the mandatory part is who you vote for. Being required to cast a ballot isn't.
