Porcelain room, 1755 Capodimonte Museum

Porcelain Parlor of Queen of Naples Maria Amalia of Saxony, now in the palace of Capodimonte, is a rococo style room entirely covered with white porcelain plates decorated in high relief with festoons and scenes of genre inspired by the taste of "Cineseria" prevailing in the 18th century. One of the happiest creations of the Neapolitan eighteenth-century civilization, it represented the "summa" of technical and artistic expertise reached in just under twenty years by the Royal Porcelain Factory of Capodimonte, founded in 1743 by Charles of Bourbon and Maria Amalia herself.
